SESIÓN 1: Copiamos la teoría o la fotocopia en el cuaderno. Después os recomiendo que hagáis el siguiente experimento.
SOUND
Sound is a form of energy that is produced by the vibration of bodies. We perceive it through our sense of hearing.
PROPAGATION OF SOUND
- It propagates in a straight line.
- It propagates in all directions, similar to light but it travels much more slowly than light.
- It propagates from one place to another through a natural medium, such as air or ground. When the medium has more matter that can vibrate, the sound is transmitted faster.
EXPERIMENT:
SESIÓN 2: copiamos en el cuaderno las cualidades del sonido ( no hace falta que hagáis los dibujos) y vemos el vídeo del link.
QUALITIES OF SOUND
The sound has got three qualities: volume, pitch (tono) and timbre.
- VOLUME OR INTENSITY: this makes possible to differenciate between loud sounds, like an engine and quiet sounds like the tweeting of a bird.
- PITCH: This can be high (agudo), like the sound of a violin, or it can be low (grave), like the sound of a double bass.
- TIMBER: This make it possible to differenciate between sounds with the same pitch and volume, based on the body that emits them.
SESIÓN 3: vamos a repasar un poco haciendo ejercicios.

SESIÓN 4: vamos a ver la contaminación acústica. Copiamos en el cuaderno y vemos los vídeos.
NOISE POLLUTION
It is the excessive noise that can harm our health. Noise can damage our ears or cause nervous disorders such as insomnia or anxiety.
We can reduce noise pollution, if we reduce the amount of vehicle traffic or listen to music at an appropriate volume.
SESIÓN 5: veamos si habéis entendido el tema a través de estos 3 ejercicios.
- Think two ways to reduce or prevent noise pollution.
- Name three examples of noise pollution. (En el segundo vídeo de ayer tienes muchas ideas)
- Complete these texts:
